Tendulkar first to reach Mount 2K in World Cups

Sachin Tendulkar added another feather in his cap when he became the first and only batsman to score 2,000 runs in the ICC Cricket World Cup.

He achieved the feat during his 27-run knock in their Group B match against the Netherlands at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

Playing in his 40th World Cup match, the champion batsman reached the milestone in style, smashing Ryan ten Doeschate for three consecutive boundaries.

Tendulkar, who has equalled Javed Miandad's record of six World Cup appearances, has five centuries and 13 half centuries in the mega-event.
